A lot has happened since writing the first 'God is Good' article back in June.
What I have written is not a blog and as such is incomplete.
We have been on a journey along a path unfamiliar to us, but common to man.
The definition of 'Good' I have been using equates to God's kindness and provision to us.
However, I just read this comment by someone:
God is not simply “good” in the common understanding of the word.
God is perfection—the ultimate definition of good.
Makes me consider how petty (and short-term) my problems are - but he still cares Psalm 8:4 What is man that you think of him!
There is another matter which occurred to me - been concentrating on the Fatherhood of God, his kindness and his provision.
But Jesus is the King of Kings, the Lord of Lords to whom every knee (including mine) must bow.
Have I been paying lip service to his Lordship in my life? lip service to seeking his Kingdom? lip service to 'your Kingdom come, your will be done...'?
In effect saying "Jesus, your reputation is at stake if you don't do what I want, when I want it...".
Thank you Jesus that your thoughts are higher than mine, that your plan is greater than any I can dream up.
I may not understand the plan, but I can trust the planner.
This, and other similarly themed articles, have been compiled into the 'God is Good Series'.
