The story is told of a successful army commander.
He became very popular.
Songs praising him were heard in bars across the land.

However, when the words of these songs were repeated to the King this army commander had to flee for his life and go into hiding.

Eventually he became a refugee in the land of one of his homeland's enemies.
The security services there informed the ruler of the songs referred to above.
Our refugee was afraid and feigned madness so he was thrown out.

At that time this army commander wrote this song...

I will always praise the Lord.
With all my heart, I will praise the Lord.
Let all who are helpless, listen and be glad.
Honour the Lord with me!
Celebrate his great name.

I asked the Lord for help,
amd he saved me from all my fears.
Keep your eyes on the Lord!
You will shine like the sun and never blush with shame.
I was a nobody, but I prayed,
and the Lord saved me from all my troubles.

If you honour the Lord, his angel will protect you.
Discover for yourself that the Lord is kind.
Come to him for protection, and you will be glad.
