I was recently telling someone about the time in 2011 when 'normal life' ended for me and my wife.

They made a typical comment along the lines of "God working all things together for good" (Romans 8:28), which troubled me. I was thinking there is more to this incident than that. For, at one level, such comments paint a picture of God coming along after me clearing up the mess I have made!

I am coming to see the events of 2011 as a 'setup job'!

Father God in His sovereignty, foreknowledge and wisdom setting us up for the next 7 years! Assurance, strength, comfort through that in circumstances one would not want to go through. "He who did not spare his own Son" (Romans 8:32) has invested in us too much to let us down.

I know Father God is good.
I know Father God is for me not against me.
