I have recently been a participant in a Freedom in Christ course. Some 'extras' for the "Steps to Freedom" booklet occurred to me and I thought it might be useful to include them here. For reference I have included the corresponding page numbers.
Choosing the Truth About Your Heavenly Father (page 13)
- I renounce the lie that you Father God is a hard task master, reaping where you do not sow (Matthew 25:24b)
I declare the truth that you, Father God, are gentle, your yoke is easy and your burden is light (Matthew 11:29-30).
- I renounce the lie that as I walk through life you, Father God, leave me stumbling in the dark.
I declare the truth that your sheep hear your voice and that you are not the author of confusion ( John 10:27, Isaiah 30:21, 1cor14v33a, 2tim1v7, Romans 8:15).

Marriage - for Widowers
Dear Heavenly Father, I choose to believe that you created us male and female, and that marriage is a spiritual bond between one man and one woman who become one in Christ.
I chose to remain committed to my vows and remained faithful to ... late wife's name ... until separated by her death.
I thank you, Father God, for your provision of ... late wife's name .... I thank you for your (and ... late wife's name ...) forgiveness of the times I failed her (and You), and I also choose to forgive myself.
Give me the grace to be the future husband (of ... name, if known ...) you created me to be and enable me to continue to love and respect my future wife. Enable me to learn from my mistakes and guide me so that I don't repeat the same old flesh patterns.
I choose to believe the truth that I am accepted, secure, and significant in Christ, that I have a future.
Please guide me to healthy relationships and keep me from haste but to wait for your reconcilliation on issues such as timing and location.
I trust you to supply all my needs in the future and I commit myself to follow you.
In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
Additional Footnotes
On the same day that I wrote the above I noticed the title for UCB Word for Today was "Your Today is Connected to Your Tomorrow" (based on Ecclesiastes 9:10a). I took that be Father God highlighting the importance of the Freedom in Christ course (and other things I have been doing) with regard to my future.
One theme which struck me during the course was "Fear is the opposite of Faith" (can't remember if it was said like that or if Father God dropped it into my mind). Fear will stop me moving forward. I don't like uncertainties and unknowns but by looking to Jesus (instead of my feet) I can take a step forward.
