Father

God Almighty – not God almatey.

'… make the tabernacle … like the pattern I showed you …' (Exodus 25:9).
On Earth
Reminds us that the Gospel is not 'pie in the sky when we die'.

Give us this day our daily bread
Reminds us of the manna in the wilderness (Exodus 16:4), (Joshua 5:12).
Those who wanted a lot, did not have too little.
Those who wanted a little did not have too much.
Some boiled it, some roasted it – each used according to his preferences and skills.
Yesterday's provision is no good for today, except on the occasions when God says to keep it for two days –
don't waste time looking for more when God says use what you have.

Place all before Him - the food we eat, the operations we have, the tablets we take, the business plans we make, our investments...
Forgive us our slip-ups
Reminds us that there is no sin so trivial that the cross is not necessary.
Added 02 November 2014 - Focus is not deliberate sins. 'Your Kingdom come' has turned us away from those.
As we forgive those who upset us
Reminds us of the triviality of those things we hold against others (Matthew 18:23-33).
The importance of forgiveness (Matthew 18:35b), (Matthew 6:14-15).
Added 02 November 2014 - Focus is not on those 'out to get us'. 'Deliver us from evil' deals with such.
Lead us not into tempation
Reminds us of our weakness – the benign / innocent situations we cannot handle.
Pray that God will not call us into something we cannot cope with or into something where our ambitions / egos go over the top.
Live in reality '… if we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves …' (1john1v8).
Deliver us from evil
Reminds us that we have an enemy prowling around seeking our downfall (1pet5v8) and of the Psalmist's prayers to be freed from his enemies.
Pray for His protection in the situations of our life.
Place before Him and seek his wisdom with the seeds we plant / arrangements we make because He knows the future and the meteorogical / geological / financial / medical situations we may face.
Added 30 September 2013 - This is not a prayer for avoidance of trouble, but for deliverance from it (John 16:33)!
