Are you praying for Iran and the Iranian peoples?
Are you praying in hope / belief (i.e. wishful thinking) or are you praying in faith?
Faith - the assurance of things hoped cf Hebrews 11:1; 1 Kings 18:42-46.
In a different context I came across a passage of scripture parts of which I felt could be applied to Iran.
As I said this is out of context and some might consider inappropriate use of scripture, but I wanted to lay it before the LORD (Jahweh).
Thought I would share it with anyone who might be interested.
The hearts of the Iranians will become weak.
Iranian will go against Iranian.
Brother will fight against hist brother.
City will fight against city.
Ethnic group fill fight against ethnic group. (See note 1)
The spirit of the Iranians will become weak within them.
The LORD (Jahweh) will bring their plans to nothing.
The Iranians will go to false gods and spirits of the dead for help.
The LORD (Jahweh) will give the Iranians into the hand of a bad ruler. An angry king will rule over them. (See note 2)
The wise men of Iran lead the wrong way as a drunk man walks from side to side in what he has spit up.
There will be no work in Iran and nothing can be done by anyone.
In that day the Iranians will be like women.
They will shake with fear because of the hand which the LORD (Jahweh) is going to wave over them.
The land of Israel will fill Iran with fear.
Whoever hears the name of Israel will be afraid of it, because of the plan which the LORD (Jahweh) is making against them.
In that day the people of Iran will start to call on the name of the LORD (Jahweh), the God of Jews and Chistians.
In that day there will be a monument in the center of Iran to the LORD (Jahweh), the God of Jews and Chistians.
The LORD (Jahweh) will send a saviour to save them and the LORD (Jahweh) will take them out of trouble.(See note 3)
The LORD (Jahweh) will make Himself known to Iran, and in that day the Iranians will know the LORD (Jahweh).
They will make promises to the LORD (Jahweh) and keep them.
The LORD (Jahweh) will punish Iran, but then He will heal them.
So Iran will return to the LORD (Jahweh) and He will answer their prayers and heal them.
Notes
1) Iran is not a homogeneous country. The Iranic peoples are a diverse ethnolinguistic group who are identified chiefly by their native usage of any of the Iranian languages.
2) This has been the state of Iran for many decades - is there another ruler to come, worse than the previous?
3) Can assume that saviour to be Jesus - they need Jesus regardless. Wonder - could that also be applied to a political figure - not necessarily someone the West approves of.
In case you are wondering, and to avoid confusion, the original context for the above can be found in Isaiah 19.
