In John 4:8 we have a description of who God is.
In 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 replacing the word love with God we have a description of what God does (behaviour / character).
I've mentioned this elsewhere.
How does 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 practically map onto Matthew 22:37 in my life?
1 Corinthians 13:4
God is patient, God is kind, God is not envious, God does not boast, God is not proud.
The picture we get from scripture is that Satan is the opposite of all those.
1 Corinthians 13:5
God honours, God is not self-seeking, God is not easily angered, God keeps no record of wrongs.
We are not talking of sin / evil here.
God does not insist on what He wants (freewill).
1 Corinthians 13:6
God does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
cf Psalm 89:14 Justice and right living are the pillars of God's throne.
A kingdom reflects the King. What about my life?
1 Corinthians 13:7
God protects, trusts, hopes, perseveres - always
cf 1 Timothy 2:4; 2 Peter 3:9; Psalm 23
