In Revelation 14:6-7 we read of an angel proclaiming the eternal gospel to those who live on the earth
“Fear God and give him glory, because the hour of his judgment has come. Worship the one who made heaven and earth, the sea and the springs of water.”
Is something missing here?
No mention of Jesus or the cross, just an invitation to a worship event.
Jesus likened the Kingdom of Heaven to a big party (worship event?) and someone being thrown out because they were not properly dressed Luke 22:1-14.
In Revelation 16:15 we are warned to be prepared, have clothes ready so that we will not be found naked and shamed.
This reminds me of Genesis 3:10 where Adam said "... I was afraid because I was naked ..."
Interestingly Adam did not, with pride and arrogance, proclaim "Look what a wonderful fig leaf outfit I made"!
God replaced the fig leaves and clothed Adam and his wife with garments of skin Genesis 3:21.
By implication the first recorded death in history.
In Revelation 5 we read of a lamb slain "whose blood has purchased men for God".
The blood spoken of throughout scripture without which there is no forgiveness of sin Hebrews 9:22
In Revelation 13:8 we find a bit more information about this lamb - "slain from the creation / foundation / beginning of the world".
Which reminds me of Romans 5:8 "God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
All I have to do is put on my garments of praise, which He provides Isaiah 6:13!
"... to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord ..."
