I have tried to write elsewhere about the goodness of God and the unwanted season of life I am in. I don't understand all that is happening, His leading, His encouragement, His comfort. I am looking at my feet, fearfull of where I might put them, then I am reminded of the song Turn your eyes upon Jesus and Psalm 119:105 "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path". 1 John 1:5-7 "... if we walk in the light, as he is in the light ..." also comes to mind. Need to look to Jesus, not my feet!
Of the 40 years when the Children of Israel were led through the wilderness God said "... I did this so that you might know that I am the Lord your God". See Deuteronomy 29:5-6.
His name is YHWH (Jahweh) - I AM WHO I AM - he is the God who is brimming with life. He revealed himself to Moses when Moses was in a place of insignificance, in a place of failure, without a future and without a hope. He then took Moses back to Egypt to take on all the gods of Egypt face to face - to show that JHWH is above all.
In Deuteronomy 29:19 God warns those who say "... I wll be safe, even though I persist in going my own way ...".
No - I want His Kingdom, His righteousmess, His will.
See His name honoured and lifted up Matthew 6:9b.
Jesus calls us to seek His Kingdom, His righteousness, His will Matthew 6:10, 6:33.
Can't live without stuff, he knows that and promises supply Matthew 6:8b, 6:33b.
He also promises "many times a much" (Luke 18:30) in this age, today, not pie in the sky!
Lots of stuff brings with it responsibility - hard work!
Luke 8:14 is a picture of someone who, because of all the stuff, takes their eye of the ball and loses eternities values.
I did this so that you might know that I am the Lord your God.
