Recently came across an article about how St Paul cared for one his team, Timothy.

How should I care for those close to me?

• Love them (vv3-4)
  Thank God for them, miss them when apart, look forward to reunion.

• Pray for them (v2-3)
  This is an act of love.
  Ask God to give them His kindness, His mercy and His peace.

• Believe in them (v5)
  Remind yourself of their faith and trust them.

• Minister to them (v6)
  Remind them not to neglect their gift.

• Encourage them (v7)
  Give their soul oxygen.
  Remind them not to allow fear to rule their decisions.

• Challenge them (vv6-7)
  Remind them to fan the flames of their faith.

• Trust them (v8)
  Don't be ashamed of your friendship.

• Share with them (v8)
  Allow them to be part of your life.
