Came across this comparison between the life God wants you to lead, as described in Psalms 112, and the fruit of the Spirit, as described in Galations 5:22-23.

---|---|
Psalms 112:4 compassion | love |
Psalms 112:1 delight | joy |
Psalms 112:8a security | peace |
Psalms 112:7b steadfastness | patience |
Psalms 112:5b generousity | kindness |
Psalms 112:6b righteous | goodness |
Psalms 112:8b consistency | faithfulness |
Psalms 112:4 gracious | gentleness |
Psalms 112:6a stability | self-control |
The other day someone I know had a vision of a person walking carefully, in darkness, with their head bowed down watching where they put their feet. That sounds familiar. In the above we have the promise of light dawning (Psalms 112:4) and also in Psalm 37:23-24 we have the promise of firm steps for those in whom the Lord delights. As Paul wrote in Galations 5:3 "Live by the Spirit" and in Ephesians 5:18 "Be filled with the Spirit"!
The answer to a bowed head : "Turn your eyes upon Jesus".
Just spotted that song includes the answer to darkness : "the light of His glory and grace".
