Over this series, one thing I don't think I've mentioned is 'healing'.
Is that 'the elephant in the room'?
I don't want to ignore it, I don't want creative explanations.
I want to live in reality - Jesus promised freedom through knowing the truth (or by living in reality) John 8:32.
In the initial article of this series my wife, Jenny, spoke about her healing.
What happened? Where was that?
Father God showed her the passage in Isaiah 38 about Hezekiah's illness.
In fact Hezekiah's illness is mentioned 3 times by different authors, each with their unique emphasis.
2 Kings 20:1-11
2 Chronicles 32:24-26
Isaiah 38 (the one my wife read)
To me the message from Father God was that he cared for us and was working in and through our situation.
I am only too aware that we see dimly and easily jump to conclusions... e.g. 2 + 2 = 5
Then today my scheduled Bible reading included 2 Chronicles 32:24 - Hezekiah's illness.
"... the LORD gave him a sign that he would recover."
It dawned on me - we did not receive a sign that Jenny would recover.
We saw God's goodness to us.
We saw signs that "He is for us and not against us".
As the old song said “with God things don’t just happen everything by Him is planned”.
We may not understand the plan and misread the signposts, but we can trust the planner.
I am in a situation I don't want to be in.
I have a freedom I don't want.
I need to be making preparation for the season arriving.
Gardening, buying things, housework, conferences, work.
See God is Good 6.
Where is "Seeking His Kingdom" Matthew 6:10, 6:33 in all this activity?
It underscores everything so that I might be equipped for "every good work" 2 Timothy 3:17.
This, and other similarly themed articles, have been compiled into the 'God is Good Series'.
