The other day I heard of someone describing themselves as a 'black dog with a white coat' taking the scripture which says 'be clothed with Jesus Christ' (Romans 13:14).

However, being in Christ I am a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17)!
I may not feel like it and others may find it hard to believe - but that is the truth!

Someone 'in Christ' is a 'white dog', that is their natural state.

They may get their coat dirty through stupidity or ignorance,
They may have dirt thrown at them,
They may pick up dirt along the road,
but their natural reaction is to shake it off!

If we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness (1 John 1:9).

God is just and righteous.
Because of the cross justice demands that He forgive us, he would be unjust if he did not!

I am reminded of a Star Trek cartoon with Jim and Spock visiting a church and people were swinging from the chandeliers. The caption read 'I think they call this church Jim, but not church as we know it'. Being from a church which meets in a 'chandeliered' hall I don't think I would recommend it for safety reasons - but the Gospel is a chandelier swinging Gospel 'I am a new creation'!
