In two previous articles I have refered to the Kingdom of God / Heaven.
Do I (you) really want to be part of the Kingdom of God?

John the Baptist came preaching the 'Kingdom of Heaven is near' (Matthew 3:2).
Soldiers and tax collectors came to him asking 'what should we do?' (Luke 3:12-14).

Why?
What were they expecting?
Were they afraid of something?
Were they expecting a coup d'etat / revolution to get rid of the occuping power and their puppets, of which they were servants.
Did they want to protect / prepare themselves and get on the right side for when it happened?

The top award for a brilliant piece of advice for all those who want to be excluded from the Kingdom of Heaven goes to the Apostle Paul (1cor6vv9-10).
If you want to guarantee your exclusion the manual is there - get on with it!

Or maybe you think its doesn't matter how I live now, I can have a cleanup later (1cor6v11).

Jesus spoke of the Kingdom being like seed or yeast  (Matthew 13:31-33 ) - imperceptible for a time, but it grows.
Whatever you sow you will reap (Galatians 6:7).

Jesus taught us to pray along the lines of 'Your Kingdom come ... on earth ...'. We are not looking for pie in the sky when we die - yes there is a future and in a sense to die is gain - but we are looking for the expanding Kingom God promised  (Daniel 2:44a) now while we are on earth. Jesus promised '... my yoke is easy and my burden is light ...' what does that mean if not today (Hebrews 4:7b)?

In a place you would rather not be, or in a place you should not be?
Are you pointing in the right direction (sowing the right seeds)?
Make level paths for your feet, so that the damaged may not be destroyed, but rather restored (Hebrews 12:13).
